Reshore your injection molding to the USA
Bring your plastic parts back from overseas. We take over molds built and run abroad, qualify them on our presses in Palm City, Florida, and put them on a documented, scientifically developed process, so your parts are molded in the USA.
Why companies are bringing molding back
- Shorter lead times. Parts ship by truck, not ocean freight, and a schedule change is a quick email, not a new container.
- Less exposure to tariffs and duties on imported molded parts, and fewer surprises at the port.
- Less inventory tied up in transit and smaller safety stock.
- Quality you can see. You can visit the press, and every shot is monitored by RJG eDART® cavity-pressure systems.
- Faster engineering changes with a molder in your time zone who speaks your language.
- Protection for your tooling and your design, with the mold on US soil.
- A US supply chain for customers and programs that ask for one.
How we reshore a program
Review before anything ships
Send the part prints, material specification, mold drawings or photos, and any process sheet from the current supplier. We check the mold against our presses and flag anything that needs adapting.
Plan the bridge
Ocean freight takes weeks. We help you size a bank of parts from your current supplier so your line keeps running while the mold is in transit.
Receive, inspect and adapt
When the mold arrives we inspect it and handle the common overseas differences: water fittings, locating ring, sprue and nozzle details, and hot runner connections.
Develop the process scientifically
We do not copy the old shop's settings. We develop the process around cavity pressure, which is often where long-running quality problems finally get fixed.
Sample, approve, produce
First-article parts are measured against your print and sent for your approval. Production then runs under eDART® monitoring, with the process documented so it repeats every time the mold is hung.
Molded in Palm City, Florida. Presses to 385 tons, an RJG-certified Master Molder® developing the process, and over 100 years of combined molding experience on our team.
What to send us
- Part prints or 3D files (STEP is ideal)
- Material specification and the resin grade you run today
- Mold size, weight, cavitation, runner type, and photos of the water and hot runner connections
- Annual volume, order size and your current landed cost if you want a straight comparison
- Your current supplier's process sheet, if you have it
Common questions
Can you run a mold that was built in China or elsewhere overseas?
Usually, yes. Overseas molds often differ in water fittings, locating rings, sprue details, hot runner connectors and metric components. We review the mold specifications before it ships and tell you what, if anything, needs to change to run on our presses.
How long does reshoring a mold take?
It depends on the mold's condition, what has to be adapted and how long the mold takes to ship. We give you a timeline after we review the mold, and we help you plan a bank of parts so your line is not left short while the tool is in transit.
Will reshored parts cost more?
Piece price can be higher than an overseas quote. Freight, duties and tariffs, inventory held in transit, quality escapes and slow engineering changes all add to what you really pay. We quote so you can compare total landed cost, not just piece price.
Can our product say Made in USA?
Your labeling claim is your decision and depends on your whole product, not just one part. What we can tell you is where your parts are molded, which is Palm City, Florida, and document it for your records.
Do you work with other US companies that are reshoring?
Yes. We work with OEMs, product companies and other molders. If you are bringing several parts back, we can quote them together.
Next step
Send us a print
A drawing or STEP file is ideal. A photo and a description is enough to start. You talk to the person who will run the process.
